Sheila E to perform charity concert benefiting the Akron Urban League.
Concert will be hosted by Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park
World renowned, multi-talented musician, Sheila E. will perform a benefit concert to support the Akron Urban League on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park. The event will be the first in a series of three day events which will serve as the kickoff to the Urban League’s 3 year sustainability campaign. As the agency approaches its 100th anniversary, the campaign will aim to ensure the organization’s future presence and growth in Summit County.
With a career spanning over thirty years, Sheila E. has carved a name for herself as one of the world’s most gifted and iconic percussionists, having collaborated with numerous talents such as George Duke, Marvin Gaye, Gloria Estefan and Prince. In recent years, Sheila E. has served as drummer of Ringo Starr’s All Star Band and musical director for the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce’ Knowles, and Prince. Her producing, arranging, and performance talents have been showcased on the Latin Grammy Awards, Summer Olympics, WOW Awards, ALMA’s, The Image Awards and the Academy Awards. Sheila was nominated for an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Music Direction” in recognition for her leadership as musical director for President Obama’s Performance at The White House: Fiesta Latina.

Tickets to the Sheila E. performance are currently on sale at www.ticketmaster.com or at the Rocksino Box Office located next to Hard Rock Live. Ticket prices are $95.00 / $75.00 / $55.00. Doors for the show will open at 6.30 pm and the show will begin at 7:30 pm. The event is 21 and over and large purses and backpacks will not be permitted.
