Everclear rocks Cleveland HOB Oct 16, 2024

Everclear with Marcy Playground and Jimmie’s Chicken Shack and Lex Bauman

Oct 16 Cleveland House of Blues

6pm ET

The Cleveland HOB was packed with excitement as well as a packed house with the return of one of the longtime favorites, Everclear to hit the stage. It seems that every year that this band comes it sparks the life back into the city and the venue that they perform and the reminiscence of the music  flows again and the happiness fills the air.

Starting the show was Lex Bauman. A young group that was a spark plug of a band. The guitarist in the band is the son of the guitarist in Everclear and he sure had the musical chops that flowed in his veins.  This band was on top of their game and sure sounded like they have been together for years.  They were a great warm up band and brought the crowd up and had them singing along with them with their catchy songs.

Jimmie’s Chicken Shack took to the stage with such a fun attitude and great crowd interaction and pulled the audience in with them.  They were dynamic and on fire.  Definitely a band to keep following.

Marcy Playground a definite crowd favorite performed to a strong crowd that knew their material and sang to their songs.  Especially their hits.  The singer was very interactive with the audience and kept the action going throughout each song.  The performance was highlighted with their hit “Sex and Candy” and had the audience singing along as if it was a big campfire party.  A great time with them.

It was time for Everclear to hit the stage and the Cleveland HOB has been worked into a semi frenzy. The anticipation from the previous band were exactly what was needed to build up for this band at this moment.  Starting the show off with “So Much for the Afterglow” was such a great song to get the crowd into the show. It was very evident that this was going to be one of these shows that Art was going to have Cleveland in his hands throughout the night. From that powerful song to “Everything to Everyone” it

seemed like it was going to be a night of hit after hit and that did not fail, as “Heroin Girl” came up next following up with “Father of Mine.” If you were indeed a fan of Everclear this was your heaven so far. But this didn’t stop their.  Art talked about sobriety and his family and brought out his daughter and what his music means to him and this touched many in the room.

I could keep going on talking about how fabulous the set was but all I can say is that this show was extremely memorable and didn’t want it to end.
